Service, both from the server and kitchen was beyond slow, food for some members of our party took over an hour to arrive for a couple sandwiches. I was unable to order a drink due to being entirely ignored. This I suspect is partially a staffing issue and partially an 'employees not caring at all' issue.Food was acceptable but not worth giving a second look. The drink selection is unacceptably small. The entire restaurant was absolutely SWARMING with fruit flies, made for a pretty gross and unpleasant experience. The decor is expectedly kitschy, if that's your thing you'll enjoy it, but overall feels like a generic 50s themed diner instead of being motorcycle/Harley themed.Overall I'd just give this place a pass, there is such a great selection of spots in the neighborhood you won't have a hard time finding a much nicer option.
Great authentic burgers. Well priced and great service. The peach pie milkshake is delicious
Food was so totally amazing. Has the cool RETRO diner feel. The milkshakes were a great size for the price. The tater tots are to die for. Will be coming back for a very long time.
The waiter was nice, also the server assistant. The fish and chips were $12 for two pieces on Friday. Overall it was a good experience. Thank you.
Good food and great staff
This review would be broken down into four categories as to effectively paint a proper picture of what to expect. The four categories include 1) decor 2) customer service 3) food 4) overall experience. Lets start with decor, this Is a family style restaurant, its motorcycle themed, it has Harley decor which is really neat. The place was clean. Customer service : the customer service was appalling the server was awful, we waited for 20 mins before having our order taken, she was extremely sassy and kept cutting me off. Food : the food was good, generous amounts of food. Affordable prices. Overall Experience: As a result of the horrendous customer service the experience was awful, we did not have a good time. To end on a positive note, I would say if the server was nice this place is not too bad.
Great place. Was happy to go. Made me smile as I am a harley enthusiast.
The search for a nice local diner lead my girlfriend and I here. Its a quaint little place with 2 bit motorcycles in the front windows, and old style harley davidson memorabilia everywhere. It definately has a lot of character! The food was absolutely delicious! The cinnimon bun is just a touch crispy and has plenty of frosting as shown in the photo. The meals themselves were very filling, I didn't need to eat again until dinner! I would like to have given a 4.5 star because though the server was courteous and kind, it was hard to find her to get my 2ater refilled, or to order more food. It would be nice if the server would do the rounds a tad more frequently. Other than that however, I had a very enjoyable experience and would not hesitate to come here again!
Quick Service. Great Breakfast. Our familiar go to spot for breakfast! Always fresh and tasty!
Excellent staff and great selection. Always a great visit
Great clean place with old style tables.
The food is simple and cheap but it's not the best. The hollandaise sauce was kind of bad and the waitress was rude
Absolutely amazing food and service. Great pricing and very cool 50's style classic finer.
Very cute place with good diner food. Their caramel milkshake is soooo good, it's by far my favorite in the city. Their prices are also extremely reasonable.
Very good spot for poutine and burgers.
Nice breakfast meal...shame about the terrible coffee
Price was pretty good, food was pretty good, can’t complain.
Great food and cheap prices I love it
Great spot. I had the classic breakfast and it was just what I was looking for. Nothing fancy / weird. Just solid. The coffee is also better than most breakfast spots I’ve been to. The wait staff was friendly and fast. I’ll have to come back for lunch.
The food was good. Really good. Almost good enough to make us come back. I had the custom burger with poutine. Hubby had some chicken burger. He loved it. Portions are huge. My burger was great the poutine was weird though. It was made with shredded cheese and the gravy wasn’t hot enough to melt the cheese. Wouldn’t order it again.Service was lacklustre. Our server was very awkward. She came and gave us our menus and then walked away. Didn’t take our drink orders. Came back 20 minutes later to take drink orders and left again without taking our main order. It took 40 minutes for us to order our food. Once the food came it was good. I feel like your server could do with some more training. I didn’t catch her name because she didn’t introduce herself and had no name tag. She had a European accent if that helps your train her better.
Love the 1950 feel of the place. I've always been given great service.the milkshakes are really good.
In my continuing search for the best milkshake in Calgary, I visited Kane's this week. It's definitely got that 50s decor, which I actually enjoyed although I was expecting it to feel a bit tacky. The serving staff were super friendly, and the server chatted to me for a while. Their milkshake looked great (whipped cream and multi coloured candies on top) and it tasted pretty good, but not amazing. The food was pretty standard diner food (better than fast food but not as good as restaurant food), but I don't hold that against them. This is a diner, you get diner food. What's fun about this place is the atmosphere and the people. I would strongly consider going back just for that.
Place was absolutely so cool inside! Such a cool retro experience. Food was okay.. was a good portion. The only reason why I’m not giving it 5 stars was because the server was never to be found. For our questions, drink refills, bill etc..But other then that I still would try this place again!
If your looking for a great place for a good charbroiled burger and a milkshake in the metal cup with a 50/60 theme this the place. Service was quick and the server was friendly. Reminded me of a burger I would make at home. Fries were crispy and tasty
Super friendly service, and great food at very reasonable prices.
Food specials are fantastic here, a couple could done easily and be satisfied for under $40. The retro theme is really beautiful and nostalgic, with a dedication to Harleys. It was quite dead for a afternoon but it was also a weekday, and seems more of a brunch spot. Waitress was inattentive so the experience stretched longer than necessary. Would definitely come again though and try out different things on the menu! Fish and chips were amazing
The staff is amazing, food is delicious, coffee is great and the price is right!!
I literally have never eaten alone, but I will go to Kane's no matter what situation I'm in! I needed a good milkshake and somewhere to relax, and stopped by for my second visit ever. Erica was so sweet and a great server. This place is a gem of Calgary and the general vibe of the diner is just what you need to escape reality sometimes!
Great service. Even better food. Had a nice 50s diner vibe and was nice and quiet
Great experience. Beautiful place, excelent service and delicious food. Highlight: peach milkshake
Food was simple but very good; service was excellent. Nice retro vibe to the place.
Knucklehead sandwich was perfect, thought I made it myself.
Always a great place to go, for food
Put an order in of fish with fries and an order of onion rings. She asked if I wanted onion rings with the fries or... I specified again I wanted both, fish n fries AND onion rings.Sat for awhile waiting.Order finally came and it was 1 plate of onion rings with a piece of fish on top and coleslaw.I told her that was not what I ordered. That I wanted both. She said ok I can get fries.Had to sit and wait awhile again.Onion rings were cold.Ate the fish and still had to wait.Fries finally came.Hubby asked her if she didnt understand when I asked for both. She said "no, thought she wanted onion rings with fish."Should have gotten the fries free but nope.Thx for killing the meal. Not impressed From Manitoba, would not recommend, would not come back.
Great eclectic diner styled after a 1950's spot. When I was there we were the only patrons, and the wait staff was warm and welcoming. The Dr Pepper milkshake was incredible, I'd go back just for the shakes!! Great atmosphere, and fantastic staff
Such a cute diner in Inglewood and it for sure is a place to visit if you're ever in the area. Definitely fits the theme of Harley Davidson. My friend and I both ordered their bison burger with fries, and it is quite hefty and definitely filling! The staff is attentive and kind so you'll never have to worry about bad service. (Also they have a jukebox!)
The food and service are ways great. Nice place to relax and enjoy.
We have driven by this diner many times and on Saturday morning, we decided to stop. We walked in and sat ourselves as instructed by the sign inside the door. Because a staff member had made eye contact with us when we entered, we thought we would be served promptly, however, we were wrong. We could hear the [only?] server chatting loudly with her co-workers while we waited. She did appear after what felt like 15 minutes with menus, all the while chomping on her gum (ugh, really?) That was when we decided we better check over the menu before committing to a beverage or order. Not sure what happened but that was all we saw of her. She made herself busy chatting with other customers while we waited to order (no it was not very busy). I wish I could comment on the food but we had other commitments that day so we moved on to a different restaurant. My review is based solely on service.
Love this place, good food, nice staff
Went in tonight . Had such a pleasant experience for a 14th bday party <3 will be back again.
Great staff and great products
Consistency great hangover breakfast. Fun Harley theme even though I'm a sport bike rider. Traditional diner style.
I quite enjoyed the meal here. The server was really polite and friendly, the prices are great, and the food was delicious :). I will definitely be bringing some other people here when they come to town. The place is really neat looking and has a homey feel to it. The food isn't anything unique, but it tastes really good!
Went here for lunch after shopping at record land, which is across the street, the food was fantastic! The burger was tasty and the patty tasted fresh. Also enjoyed the atmosphere of the diner, I felt like I was in 1950’s back to the future! Great place that we will go to again.
A good dinner in the city. We had a family brunch there. I couldn't finish my breakfast. It's older but very cool inside. Staff were very nice, hot meal, good coffee.
Last time i came here, the burger was burnt, and the bun was soggy. Asked for a remake and it came out the same way.Usually the diner food is good, but this was not one of those times. The atmosphere is fun, and the music is not too loud, i like the charm of the place.
Good food, good service, not exceptional but good. What I would expect for a diner good food at a reasonable cost. If you're looking for fine dining, look elsewhere, if you're looking for a friendly neighborhood diner, this is it!
I really liked Kane’s Harley Diner, even though the place was empty when I was there. The food was delicious and hit the right buttons for that diner experience I was looking for. Worth a trip. Not expensive. Food is good. I didn’t give it five stars because it was a little strange. I couldn’t put my finger on, and maybe it was just the staff that was working there that night, but there is something strange about KHD.
Super beautiful and fun atmosphere. Gives off such 50's vibes, and you've gotta try their milkshakes. Probably the best I've had, and I'm lactose intolerant!
Ordered fish and fries. With an order of onion rings. After some time we get onion rings with fish on top of fries. NO FRIES. So had to ask where are my fries. Waitress just smiles, don't know how much English she understood. Finally get my fries after I ate my 1 piece of fish. Onion rings where cold inside. NOT IMPRESSED WITH THIS PLACE. Nice decor tho.
